Intro from James
January 2012
I’m not so sure that anyone would be interested in anything that I have to say, but according to our extra-clever marketing people, writing a blog is apparently something that I should do as part of our ‘social media’ marketing. No - I haven’t a clue what this means either, but apparently this is now a really important element to marketing a brand effectively in the 21st Century.
What I’ve decided to do is write about what its like to manage and work in a consumer audio brand/company in the UK and I intend covering everything that I think might be of interest to you. And in some cases I’ll write about what is solely of interest to me !
This will cover how we develop a new product, what goes wrong, what goes right, etc. I’ll also write about our interactions with our retail customers both in the UK and overseas, my views on the hifi press, some of the ridiculous things that happen when working with factories overseas, etc. I’ll also be commenting on some of the new technology that appears in the market.
Now, this could end up being really bloody dull, so I’ll need some feedback from you – if you think it’s interesting or even vaguely amusing, please let me know and I’ll see how far I am allowed to push the boundaries of what is acceptable.
Intro over – obviously all the views expressed in this blog are mine personally and they are not those of Roth AV Ltd., or anyone working within the company. Blah blah. See, dull already.
