Roth Audio reveals OLi 4, the OLi Series flagship speaker, bringing a room-filling sound for wallet-friendly money
The Roth Audio Oli 4 speaker delivers a big sound for small money. A tower design, the new arrival reaches up almost one meter in height, packing a triple driver array. A sweet sounding 25mm tweeter compliments a muscular pair of 17cm woofers, culminating in a monitor capable of handling up to 200 watts of audio power.
The OLi 4 woofer employs a woven fibreglass hybrid material and high frequencies emanate from a polymer integrated soft dome tweeter. Using a classic two-and-a-half-way tapered crossover, the floorstander will appeal to audio aficionados, while the towering monitor’s lush looks mean its charms extend to include including those who insist on style as well as substance.
The speaker’s gloss base and matching top panel integrates with the smoothly curving cabinet, producing a cabinet large enough to produce a room-filling sound, yet sufficiently compact to compliment your home decor.
This black and silver design is not, of course, purely about good looks. Ensuring a rigid structure is a key element to successfully building a great sounding speaker, so the OLi 4 uses DALtech technology to help the tower stay good and firm. Standing for ‘Dead as Lead Technology, DALtech aims to eliminate distortion – caused by the speaker’s own energy – with the strategic placement of acoustic damping within the speaker cabinet.
